ROADWATCHBC PROGRAM RESULTS
Launched in May 2016 the RoadWatchBC Program enabled citizens to report their wildlife observations along roads in the Elk Valley. After three years of data collection (ending May 2019) we analyzed the data and identified road sections with high wildlife activity.
The RoadWatchBC Program and resulting data-set was used to inform an update to the 2010 released "Highway 3: Transportation Mitigation for Wildlife and Connectivity." The update resulted in three key products:

- Amendment: Highway 3 Transportation Mitigation for Wildlife and Connectivity in Elk Valley of British Columbia Report
- Highway 3 BC Mitigation Sites (KMZ)
- Reconnecting the Rockies Infographic (New August 2020)
